The legal and tax environment is certainly one of the most important reasons why Luxembourg is attractive for companies seeking a location for their headquarters.

Tax Rates
Luxembourg has concluded double tax avoidance treaties with more than 80 countries, providing an extensive and secure international tax framework.
The overall corporate tax rate stands at approximately 24.94% in Luxembourg City, composed of corporate income tax (21%), the contribution to the employment fund (7% of CIT, i.e., 1.47%), and communal business tax (6.75%).
Corporate wealth tax constitutes a separate tax, the amount of which depends on the balance sheet structure and economic substance.
Many Luxembourg investment vehicles (RAIF, SIF, SCSp, SICAV) enjoy complete or near-complete tax exemption on income and capital gains. Operational holding companies (SOPARFIs) are fully taxable in principle but may benefit from the participation exemption, allowing an exemption for dividends and capital gains under certain conditions.

About Personal Taxation
Resident and non-resident taxpayers subject to tax (taxation by assessment) are required to declare their income by producing a tax return (form 100).
Depending on their situation (married, in a couple or single, with or without children), taxpayers are taxed either jointly or individually. Taxpayers who are taxed jointly produce only one tax return listing all their income. The tax is determined based on the taxpayers' global joint net income and is payable by them as a unit.
Deadlines: The tax return (form 100) must be filed with the competent tax office preferably before June 30 of the year following the tax year in question, and respecting specific submission deadlines indicated by the various directorates of the Direct Tax Administration (ACD). But your tax return must be sent before December 31 of the year following the tax year in question. You can book an online tax consultation at Advensys Conseil and obtain a simulation of your private or family (joint) tax rates.
